Setting up your device
To set up a Chromecast or Google TV Streamer, you’ll need the Google Home app on a compatible mobile device.
Minimum requirements for setup:
- Android phone or tablet running Android 9.0 or later
- iPhone or iPad running iOS 17.0 or later
Setup must be completed using the Google Home app.

Casting after setup
Once your Chromecast is set up, you can cast from other compatible devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
You can cast from:
Mobile devices
- Android 9.0 or later
- iOS 17.0 or later
Computers (using the Chrome browser)
- Windows 7 or later
- macOS 10.9 or later
- Supported Chromebook devices
