Knowledge Network licences programs from a variety of distributors, and each title is available for a set period of time. When those rights come to an end, a program may need to be removed from knowledge.ca or our app.
Before a licence expires, we review whether the rights are still available, whether the distributor is offering renewal, and how the program has performed for audiences in our region. In many cases, we’re able to extend the rights and keep popular programs available. Other times, the distributor may no longer offer streaming rights, or the renewal terms may change in a way that prevents us from keeping the program online.
