Knowledge Network's on-demand streaming service is available to residents of Canada, and our Live TV stream is available to residents of British Columbia.
To confirm your eligibility, our system checks your IP address when you start streaming. This means you need to be physically located in Canada (for on-demand) or BC (for live TV) for streaming to work.
Using a VPN?
If you're connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), there's a chance it's showing our system a location outside of Canada or BC, even if you're within the correct region. This error code (for example, B3895840) can appear whether you're genuinely streaming from outside Canada, or you're within Canada but using a VPN that displays a location outside of Canada.
Still blocked even though you're in Canada?
If you live in Canada and are being blocked from viewing content on our website or the Knowledge App, please reach out through our streaming support form. To help us sort things out quickly, include the following:
- The error code you received (e.g. B3895840)
- The location in Canada that you would be accessing Knowledge Network programming from
- Whether you're using a VPN, and if so, whether you've tried turning it off and streaming again
- Whether the error shows on all programs or just specific ones
- Whether it's happening on one device or several (e.g. computer, phone, tablet, or streaming device (e.g. Roku, Apple TV).
Once we have that information, we'll be happy to help you get back to streaming.
